To provide a high performance heat-transfer image receiving sheet equipped with a double layer structure consisting of a receiving layer and a releasing layer on a base material sheet produced only by a dry painting and its manufacturing method.
This heat-transfer image receiving sheet is used for a heat transfer recording, in which the dye or ink of a heat transferring sheet is heat- transferred to the heat transfer image receiving sheet by heating the heat transferring sheet under the state that the heat transferring sheet having a heat transferable dye or ink layer and the heat transfer image receiving sheet are piled up. In this case, the heat transfer image receiving sheet has a receiving layer made of a powdered paint composition including a first dye- or ink- receiving resin on a base material sheet and, at the same time, has a releasing layer made of the powdered paint composition including a second resin having a releasability from the heat transferring sheet on the receiving layer. The releasing layer may also well be produced by spraying inorganic fine particles or organic fine particles on the receiving layer and then heating so as to fix the releasing layer to the receiving layer.
