To efficiently enable heat-treating of a material to be heat-treated while restraining uneven deformation.
This heat treatment apparatus is provided with an atmosphere heating furnace 1 for heat-treating the material 2 to be heat-treated, a camera 6 for monitoring the material 2 to be heat-treated from the outside through a peep hole 7 in the atmosphere heating furnace 1 and a picture data analyzing device 8 for analyzing the shape, deforming quantities, distribution of the deforming quantities and uneven deformation of the material 2 to be heat-treated during the heat treatment based on the output of picture data monitored with the camera 6. Atmosphere heating temp. is controlled with heaters 3 through a temp. controller 9 so as to restrain the uneven deformation of the material 2 to be heat-treated to the min. limit according to analyzed result with the picture data analyzing device 8.
