Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently form a chilled layer on a casting without using any special die.
SOLUTION: After a heat treatment pallet 13 with a large number of cam shafts W positioned and loaded therein is heated in a heat treatment furnace 10, only cam parts C of the cam shafts W are quenched to be chilled by a quenching device 12. A large number of air spraying means 32 comprising main pipes 34 and branch pipes 35 are extended, and air is sprayed to the entire circumference of the cam parts C from air spray holes 36 opened in the branch pipes 35.
