To provide a heating cooker that can detect a temperature with high precision without any influence of the material or the shape of a pan.
The heating cooker has a first measuring area 7a formed on a top plate 3, wherein infrared ray radiated from the bottom plane of the heating cooker 6 is transmitted to the lower plane of the top plate 3; a second measuring area 7b for shielding the infrared ray radiated from the bottom plane of the heating cooker 6 provided in the top plate 3; an infrared ray detection part 7 for detecting the dosage of the infrared ray coming from the first measuring area 7a and the dosage of the infrared ray coming from the second measuring area 7b arranged at the lower part of the top plate 3; and an operation part 9 for calculating the temperature of the heating cooker 6 based on the dosage of the infrared ray detected by the infrared ray dosage detection part 7.
