The heating cooking apparatus 1 is provided with a cooking chamber 20, a heating medium producing device 40 producing superheated steam or hot air as the heating medium, a side part heating medium supply opening 47 for sending in the heating medium into the heating chamber from a side wall of the heating chamber 20, a food material tray 100 to be inserted into the heating chamber 20, and a tray receiver supporting the food material tray 100 at a predetermined height in an interior of the heating chamber 20. The tray receiver includes a first tray receiver 101 supporting the food material tray 100 at a position higher than a side part heating medium flow flowing in from the side part heating medium supply opening 47, a second tray receiver 102 supporting the food material tray 100 at a position blown by the side part heating medium flow from above, and a third tray receiver 103 supporting the food material tray 100 at a position lower than the second tray receiver 102.
