Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a helix type traveling wave tube with high gain and high output without prolonging the length of a slow-wave circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A slow-wave circuit, in which a helix is supported fact on the-inside of a vacuum envelope 4 by a plurality of dielectric substance support rods, is divided by an attenuator 18 into an input side slow-wave circuitry 9a and an output side slow-wave circuitry 9b. Dielectric substance support rods 11a, 11b have section area varying at the position of attenuator and have such a sect ion area as greater in the output side slow-wave circuitry than in the input side slow-wave circuitry.
