Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemming method with which working processes can be shortened and a cost of a die can be reduced.SOLUTION: In a hemming method, a tip bent part 5 and a tip inclined part 4 of an end part of a work-piece 1 are formed, and the tip inclined part 4 is bent upward at a prescribed angle in a first pressing process. While maintaining bending of the tip inclined part 4 by a lower die, the tip bent part 5 is bent downward in a direction substantially perpendicular to a plane of the work-piece 1 by an upper die. In a second pressing process, the bent parts of the tip inclined part 4 and the tip bent part 5 are pressed by the upper die while holding a body of the work-piece 1 by the lower die, the work-piece 1 is held between the upper die and the lower die, and bending work is performed so that the tip bent part 5 is made to tightly adhere to the tip inclined part 4 while turning the tip inclined part 4, and bending work is performed so that the tip inclined part 4 has a plane flush with that of the work-piece 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
