Abstract:
To provide a CD81 protein and a nucleic acid encoding the CD81 protein, pharmaceutical composition for treatment of hepatitis C and diagnosis of hepatitis C, an animal model for treatment of hepatitis C and diagnosis of hepatitis C and a diagnostic kit for treatment of hepatitis C and diagnosis of hepatitis C.
The present invention provides a CD81 protein used for treatment or diagnosis of HCV or its functional equivalent and a method for treating infection of HCV. The treating method comprises a step of administering to a patient the CD81 protein or its functional equivalent in therapeutically effective amount or a step of administering a compound specifically binding to the CD81 protein in order to decrease infectivity of virus.
