Abstract:
To provide truncated HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) envelope proteins useful for an immunoassay and a therapeutic/prophylactic vaccine.
The HCV truncated glycoprotein is selected from the group consisting of a glycoprotein which is expressed from the E1 domain of HCV and has deletion in a part of a sequence found in a domain covering amino acids 330-380 (number from the beginning of HCV polyprotein) of the E1 domain and a glycoprotein which is expressed from the E2 domain of HCV and has deletion in a part of a sequence found in a domain covering amino acids 660-830 (number from the beginning of HCV polyprotein) of the E2 domain.
