PURPOSE: The titled herbicide having enlarged range of suitable treatment period, containing 5-tertiary-butyl-3-(2,4-dichloro-5-isopropoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazolin-2-one and an α,α-dimethylphenylacetailide derivative.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide containing 5-tertiary-butyl-3-(2,4-dichloro-5-isopropoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoline-2-one and an α,α-dimethylphenylacetanilide derivative shown by the formula (X is halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or alkenyloxy; n is 0W3) as active ingredients. In the blending ratio of both compounds, 1pts.wt. compound shown by the formula is used with preferably 0.5W5pts.wt. of the former compound. The use of both compounds shows improved synergistic effects not only on annual broad-leaved such weeds as Echinocholoa crus-galli Beauv. var. practicola Ohwi, umbrella plant, etc., but also on perennial weeds such as slender spikerush, bulrush, etc. which are not easily destroyed.
