Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate drop in the degree of vacuum and lowered purity of melted metal as caused by an impurity gas generated by arranging a vapor deposition preventing plate retractably supported through a holder made up of a metal plate with a higher heat conductivity right on an induction melting furnace to install a plurality of slits for preventing interlinkage magnetic fluxes.
SOLUTION: A coil 3 for induction heating is arranged around a crucible 2 within a vacuum container 1 and a deposition preventing plate 5 is mounted being held retractable right below an observation hole 4 right above the crucible 2 in the vacuum container 1. The deposition preventing plate 5 is fixed at a lower end of a holder 6 rotatably mounted on the vacuum container 1 so that the deposition preventing plate 5 is turned through a rotating shaft of the holder 6 to advance to right on the crucible 2 or retract to a retreating position. For example, the deposition preventing plate 5 is built as a circular plate with a plurality of slits made in the radial direction thereof and hinders induction heating by restricting heating as caused by interlinkage magnetic fluxes. A heating means 7 such as resistance heating type heater is arranged on the surface and the internal surface of the deposition preventing plate 5.
