PURPOSE: To provide a high illuminance light irradiation device for phototreatment readily giving a sufficient quantity of light, by a constitution that a luminance of an emission surface supplying high illuminance light is controlled to emit low luminance high illuminance light.
CONSTITUTION: Inside a box 1, a high illuminance light generating portion 2 is formed by vertically arranging a plurality of light sources 20, and a lighting circuit 3 is formed. In an aperture of the front surface of the box 1, an optical diffusion translucent cover 5 is disposed as an optical diffusion member. For example, a milky acrylic plate with an optical transmission rate of about 50 to 70% is provided. When the light sources 20 are lighted, a high illuminance light is emitted from the high luminance light generating portion 2. The light is emitted to the outside through the optical diffusion translucent cover 5 disposed in the aperture. A patient to be treated is to look at the optical diffusion translucent cover 5 as an emission surface. At this time, the light passing through the optical diffusion translucent cover 5 becomes diffusion light, and the emission surface no longer has a high illuminance portion, so that a low luminance is kept. Consequently, the patient can continue to look at the high illuminance light and is given a sufficient quantity of light.
