Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane in which a high salt inhibition rate is maintained and high water permeation performance is held and desalting or the like is excellent by regulating the specific surface area of a polyamide-based skin layer on the surface of a composite reverse osmosis membrane to at least specified value and coating the surface of the skin layer with the crosslinking layer of an organic polymer having a positive chargeable group.
SOLUTION: A skin layer of water permeability consisting of a crosslinked polyamide is formed by coating a minute porous supporting body with a solution containing a multifunctiona1 amine and applying a solution containing a multifunctional acid halide compound thereto and thereafter removing the solution and drying the minute porous supporting body. The specific surface area of the skin layer is regulated to at least 3. The surface of the skin layer is coated with the crosslinked layer of an organic polymer having a positive chargeable group such as the organic polymer in which a polymer having a quaternary ammonium group and a hydroxyl group has been applied to intramolecular and/or intermolecular crosslinking. Further, the crosslinked layer of the organic polymer having the positive chargeable group is the organic polymer in which polyethylene imine is crosslinked. Thickness of the layer is desirably 10&angst -10μm.
