PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump in which drive performance of an electromagnetic drive part for controlling a delivery amount is improved.SOLUTION: A valve member 40 shuts off and allows a fuel flow in a fuel passage 100 by getting seated on and leaving from a valve seat 34 of a valve body 30 provided in the fuel passage 100. A stopper 50 regulates movement of the valve member 40 in a valve opening direction by contacting with the valve member 40. A first spring 21 has one end fitted to the valve member 40, and the other end abutted to a second spring seat 56 provided on the stopper 50, and energizes the valve member 40 to a valve closing direction. The stopper 50 has an abutment part abutted to the valve member 40, and a second recession 57 recessed to a side opposite from the valve member in a diameter inner side of the abutment part. A passage extending from a pressurizing chamber side to the valve member side is formed in the stopper. The recession communicates with the passage on the valve member side rather than an end surface on the pressurizing chamber side of the stopper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
