Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a smooth fast forward reproduced image when performing high-speed reproduction at a device for reproducing MPEG compressed moving image data.
CONSTITUTION: When a request to perform fast forward reproduction is received, header detection detects the kind of that image, and based on this result, a control means 109 executes the stop instruction of an orthogonally transformed information decoding means 105 for decoding a P Picture and a B Picture. Otherwise, when the speed of fast forward reproduction is comparatively low, only the low-order information is selectively decoded. When decoding the B Picture, the orthogonally transformed information is not decoded.
