Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a unique blind bolt structure having a high strength fastener over a wide fastening range by facilitating the use of a high strength material and providing a spline portion having a maximum diameter.
CONSTITUTION: A blind fastener 10 is provided with a core pin 12 having a blind side head 34 and a plurality of screw threads, and a nut 14 screwed into the screw of the pin. The blind fastener is fixed by a relative axial force applied to the pin for pressing a sleeve expandable toward a main sleeve so as to form a load supporting blind head by expanding an expandable sleeve. The blind fastener is provided with a fastening force adjusting structure 19 for regulating a fastening space 64 having a depth d3 selected to limit its fastening range. The pin head 34 is operated on sleeves 16 and 18 so as to shear the breakable portion of the fastening force adjusting structure.
