Abstract:
To provide high-strength wire rope capable of improving the breaking load while preventing the breaking of a rope core at an early stage.
A high-strength wire rope 1 comprises a rope core 2 in which core strands 4 consisting of a modified strand are twisted together and a plurality of side strands 3 which are twisted together around the circumference of the rope core 2. The curvature radius of the circumferential surface 4a of the core strands 4 is larger than that of the circumferential surface of a strand at the outermost layer of the side strands 3. The strand intensity ratio, which is the ratio of tensile strength between strands 5-7 of the rope core 2 and the strand 12 of the outermost layer of the side strand is set to 90% or less.
