Title:
HIGH TEMPERATURE FIRED X7R DIELECTRIC CERAMIC COMPOSITION USING SUBMICRON PARTICLE SIZED BARIUM TITANATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05213670
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a ceramic composition provided with a high dielectric constant and stable temp. coefficients by mixing a specified barium titanate, a niobium pentoxide and a cobalt oxide in a specified ratio.

CONSTITUTION: A mixture consists of (A) about 95.9-98 wt.% barium titanate (a purity is about 99%, the stoichiometric ratio of BaO/TiO2 is about 0.995 and the average particule size is equal to or less than about 0.8), (B) about 1.9-3.7 wt.% niobium pentoxide (the purity is about 99.0% and the paraticle size is about 0.5-0.9 μm) and (C) about 0.1-0.4 wt.% cobalt oxide. Distilled water is added to the mixture so as to be mixed, dried and ground. A binder is added to it so as to be mixed and, then, paraticles are formed. Then, they are compressed and formed to be in a desired shape so as to be fired at a temp. of about 1280-1360°C. It is provided with a stable temp. coefficient characteristic with a high dielectric constant stability in a wide temp. range, the dielectric constant (25°C) is about 2400-3000 without changing more than 15% from a reference value and an RC product (25°C) is about 5000 ohmic fared.
