Title:
HIGHLY WATER-ABSORBING NONWOVEN FABRIC AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011144480
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a nonwoven fabric having high water-absorptivity and excellent flexibility.

The nonwoven fabric containing a fiber composed of a thermoplastic water-absorbing resin containing a polyalkylene oxide unit is produced by melt-spinning the thermoplastic water-absorbing resin. The nonwoven fabric may be a melt-blown nonwoven fabric and may be constituted with an essentially continuous filament having an average fiber diameter of 1-20 μm. The thermoplastic water-absorbing resin may be a polyalkylene oxide-modified material containing a poly(2-4C alkylene oxide) unit. The thermoplastic water-absorbing resin may have a melt viscosity of 100-800 Pa s at 170°C under a 5 MPa load and may have a water absorptivity of 5-50 g/g.
