Abstract:
To obtain a hollow cathode which stably supply electrons with an improved yield, without fear of crush at a connecting part between a cathode pipe and a cylindrical heater due to thermal stress caused by repeated on/off operations.
A cylindrical heater 6 is arranged around a cathode pipe 4 containing a core cathode 5 in contact with an orifice 2, and at the same time, is made surrounded by a heat-insulating shield 8 to fix an exothermic part 31 of the cylindrical heater 6 and the cathode pipe 4 covered with an insulator in a non-jointed state.
