Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which is excellent in diffusibility of an exhaust gas, can improve purification performance compared to conventional ones when a predetermined amount of a catalyst is carried and can suppress an increase in pressure loss during use.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 100 which comprises a honeycomb structure part 4 having porous partition walls 1 for partitioning and forming a plurality of cells 2 serving as fluid flow passages extending from an inlet end face 11 to an outlet end face 12, wherein the porosity of the partition walls 1 is 45 to 65%, the opening area ratio of pores having an equivalent circle diameter of 10 μm or more of pores on the surface of the partition walls 1 is 20 to 50%, the pore density of pores having an equivalent circle diameter of 10 μm or more is 200 to 1000 pieces/mm, the median opening diameter of pores having an equivalent circle diameter of 10 μm or more is 40 to 60 μm, the circularity of pores having an equivalent circle diameter of 10 μm or more is 1.8 to 4.0 and the wet area of the partition walls 1 is 16500 μmor more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
