PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica scale inhibitor that effectively inhibits the attachment of or deposition of silica scale occurring in a cooling water system or a boiler water system comprising a heat exchanger, a refrigerator or the like, and a silica scale inhibiting method using the same.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a silica scale inhibitor that comprises a copolymer comprising a (meth) acrylic acid and at least one of oxyalkylene monomers having specific structures as constituent monomers, and a silica scale inhibiting method using the same.SELECTED DRAWING: None
