To provide a honeycomb structure preventing occurrence of cracks in regeneration, and improving regeneration efficiency.
The honeycomb structure 100 includes a honeycomb base material 4 having a porous partition wall 1 demarcating a plurality of cells 2 serving as fluid channels of fluid from one end face 11 to the other end face 12, and an outer periphery wall 3 disposed to surround the partition wall 1, and sealing parts 5 disposed on one ends of given cells 2 and on the other ends of the remaining cells 2. The honeycomb base material 4 is configured of "a region 4a of one end face 11 in the extending direction of the cells 2" and "a region 4b of the other end face 12 in the extending direction of the cells 2." Thermal conductivity of the region 4a of the one end face is 1.2-3.0 times of that of the region 4b of the other end face, the length in the extending direction of the cells 2 of the region 4a of the one end face is "10 mm or more, and 30% or less of the length in the extending direction of the cell 2 of the honeycomb base material 4".
