To provide a hopping device generating large impact force to consumption power, preventing the generation of residual vibrations, and capable of reducing the size and weight of a search instrument.
A hopping device has a first fixed magnet 1a made from a permanent magnet fixed to a housing 3; a second fixed magnet 1b made from a permanent magnet fixed to the housing 3 and disposed separately from the first fixed magnet 1a by a predetermined distance; a moving magnet 2 made from a permanent magnet moving between the first fixed magnet 1a and the second fixed magnet 1b; and a moving mechanism portion A for moving the moving magnet 2. The first fixed magnet 1a, the second fixed magnet 1b, and the moving magnet 2 are disposed on one straight line in a direction in which suction force works between the opposite magnets.
