Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontally pulling type breakwater capable of being applied at a low cost even at a place having severe operating conditions by improving support conditions at the time of operation.
SOLUTION: When a water channel 3 is interrupted by a door body 8 in a dock 4, the door body 8 is pulled and moved horizontally to the opposite bank 2 by a driving device 20. A support beam 27 is shifted horizontally to the opposite bank 2 at an upper place, where no wave pressure is generated in the water channel 3. A breakwater resists wind pressure working to the support beam 27 while the section of a truck section 10 and the connecting section of the support beam 27 are used as wind-pressure fulcra. The support beam 27 is fitted to a supporter 30, and both ends of the door body 8 are supported by the supporter 30 and the truck section 10. The door body 8 is moved forward into the water channel 3 and receives wave pressure action, but support sections at both ends function as wave-pressure fulcra, and the door body 8 resists wave pressure. The free end of the door body 8 is inserted into a gate groove 5, and the water channel 3 is totally closed. The section of the gate groove 5 and the section of the dock 4 function as the wave-pressure fulcra and resist wave-pressure action received by the door body 8.
