Title:
HORN SWITCH CONTACT RING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03281476
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing cost for a horn switch by spirally and flatly winding a wire onto a contact ring, and by connecting the wire at one end to one of terminals of the horn switch while allowing the flat spiral part to slide on a contact on the steering column side.

CONSTITUTION: A contact ring 11 is wound thereon with a phosphor bronze wire, firmly, flatly and spirally. The rear surface of a lower cover 5 is annular and serves as a flat surface 5a for attaching a contact ring, being formed at its outer peripheral edge with a plurality of pawls 5b provided with come-off checking parts 5c. When the contact ring 11 is set on the annular flat surface 5a, the outer peripheral section 11a thereof is engaged and fixed to the pawls 5b so as to form a planar spiral section 11b. A brush-like contact 12a on a lever combination switch 12 is made into slidable contact with the spiral section 11b by means of a spring 12b. Meanwhile, a rear end lift-up section 11c on the inner side of the contact ring 11 is introduced into the lower cover 5 through an aperture 5d in the annular flat surface 5a, and is connected to a cord 83 connected to a movable contact 8b of a horn switch 8 through the intermediary of a connector 8f.
