Title:
SURFACE-MODIFIED NYLON FIBER AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3281477
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain surface-modified nylon fibers capable of realizing an excellent visual feeling and a light touch by reacting a specific microorganism with nylon fibers and forming a new surface shape composed of transverse stripy grooves in the circumferential direction of the fiber surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing surface-modified nylon fibers is to react a wood destroying fungus and/or a culture thereof with polyamide-based fibers such as nylon 6 or nylon 66 and form transverse stripy grooves, having 0.01-100μm width and nearly irregularly repeated in the fiber axial direction at an interval of 0.01-100 times the width of the grooves therebetween on the fiber surfaces in the circumferential direction of the fiber surfaces. The resultant fibers having the new surface shape have unconventionally a good visual feeling and an excellent light touch.
