To provide a hot forming apparatus for a metal tube capable of fundamentally solving heat transfer problem of a metal tube by contact with a mold, and also to provide a hot forming method using the same.
The hot forming apparatus for the metal pipe includes: a mold for clamping the heated metal tube; a shaft pushing device having a medium supply port at a molding surface, having a medium supply tube communicating with the medium supply port at the inside, and carrying out shaft pushing while closing the end of the clamped metal tube; a medium feed means connected with the medium supply tube of the shaft pushing device and feeding medium vaporized and expanded by the temperature of the metal tube and bulging the metal tube along the molding surface of the mold to the inside of the metal tube. The hot forming method using the same includes a step for clamping the heated metal tube by the mold and a shaft pushing step for carrying out the shaft pushing while closing the end of the clamped metal tube in sequence. In the shaft pushing step, the medium vaporized and expanded by the temperature of the metal tube is fed to the inside of the metal tube to bulge the metal tube along the molding surface of the mold.
