To provide a household detergent composition which is widely used in household for e.g. flooring, glass surfaces, electric appliances, dinning tables and kitchen sections, exhibits an excellent detergency to oily, aqueous or darkish soils just by wiping the detergent composition after spraying it directly to the area to be cleaned or to the wiping implement, does not leave a cleaned surface slimy for a long time, allows a more efficient cleaning than the conventional wiping, does not make the hands and the skin slimy, even when it inadvertently gets to them.
The household detergent composition is a water/solvent mixture, (a) has a dielectric constant (r) of ≤70 at 25°C, contains 0.001-3.0 mass% of (b) an alkaline agent, 0.001-5.0 mass% of (c) a surface active agent and 0-5.0 mass% of (d) a chelate agent, and has a pH adjusted in the range between over 8.0 and not more than 12.0.
