A housing of a hard disk drive is provided with: a base member 111 supporting a spindle motor 130 rotating a disk 120 for storing data, and an actuator 140 having a read/write head; a cover member 112 which is coupled to the base member to surround the disk, the spindle motor and the actuator; a damping plate 115 arranged at an opposite plane of the cover member, and a buffer member 114 arranged between the cover member and the damping plate, holding the cover member and the damper member between them at the prescribed interval, and forming an air-gap inside, wherein the buffer member is made of a material through which air passes but water does not pass.
