PURPOSE: To provide the housing structure of a spare tire which is capable of housing a full size spare tire and reduces the number of parts.

CONSTITUTION: The housing structure of a spare tire is formed such that a front room 5 having an upper opening 5a opened and closed by means of a front hood 4 is arranged in front of a car room 6. A tire placing surface 8 of the front room 5 is inclined downward toward a dash panel, and the rear end of the tire placing surface 8 and the lower end of the dash panel are bent to form a recessed part 18 extending rearward of the car body. The lower part of the dash panel is formed in the shape of a foot rest and meanwhile and a protrusion part 20 is formed in the spot, situated facing the recessed part 18, of the front hood 4. The front and rear ends of a spare tire 7 placed on the tire placing surface 8 of the front room 5 are arranged on the protrusion part 20 of the front hood 4 and the recessed part 18 of the front room 5 to house the spare tire.
