Abstract:
To find the CC type of Staphylococcus aureus, which is specifically detected in patients with atopic dermatitis in Asians such as Japanese, and clarify its relationship with atopic dermatitis; then, by using the CC-type Staphylococcus aureus as an index, to make it possible to detect the risk of developing atopic dermatitis or predict the prognosis (severity); and, in addition, to provide a method of screening candidate compounds for a preventive agent or a therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis, with the CC-type Staphylococcus aureus as a new therapeutic target.SOLUTION: It is found that, in the lesion site skin of Japanese patients with atopic dermatitis, unlike Western patients with atopic dermatitis, Staphylococcus aureus having CC type (CC188 type, CC8 type, CC97 type, CC20 type, CC12 type) is predominant.SELECTED DRAWING: None
