Abstract:
The present invention relates to a processing method for forming a work (W) which becomes a long piece using the surplus size of a plate-shaped object (10) having a product area (12). The purpose of the present invention is to prevent a collapse of each long piece during a cutting process even if the plate-shaped object is a composite material containing a soft layer. The surplus size of the plate-shaped object having a surplus area (14) on the outer circumference of the product area is bonded to a maintaining member (19). Also, the surplus area on one side is cut from the upper side of the surplus size of the plate-shaped object to the middle of the maintaining member by a cutting blade (20). So, the product area is cut along a predetermined division line (16) in a first direction. Also, the cutting blade (20) ascends in the surplus area on the other side, and the product area is cut along the predetermined division line in the first direction while noncutting units (25, 27) remain in the surplus area on one side and the other side. Also, the surplus area in a second direction vertical to the first direction is removed by being cut and is divided into the works which become the individual long piece.
