Abstract:
The present invention relates to a binding motif and methods of regulating cell function which methods target a single amino acid residue preferably a Tyr in a binding motif equivalent to a motif of the common beta chain (betac) of the GM-CSF/IL-3/IL-5 receptor. Preferably, the cell functions affect cell survival and proliferation in cells. The methods can be used for treatments of conditions relating to cell survival and proliferation and can be used to expand progenitor cells, for instance, for transplantation purposes.
