PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide human antibodies to human angiopoietin-like protein 4.SOLUTION: The invention provides an intact human antibody that specifically binds to and inhibits human angiopoietin-like protein 4 (hANGPTL4) or antigen-binding fragments thereof. The human anti-hANGPTL4 antibody is useful in treatment of ANGPTL4 mediated diseases or disorders such as hyperlipidemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and dyslipidemia such as hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia and chylomicronemia. Further, the anti-hANGPTL4 antibody can be administered to a subject in need to prevent or treat diseases or disorders of which risk factor is the aberrant lipid metabolism. Such diseases or disorders include cardiovascular diseases, e.g., atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, acute pancreatitis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), diabetes and obesity.
