Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an inhibitor inhibiting hyaluronic acid decomposition through acting on the cells present in human connective tissue, and to provide a therapeutic agent containing this inhibitor.
CONSTITUTION: This hyaluronic acid decomposition inhibitor containing, as active ingredient, a histamine H1-antagonist (salt) such as an ethanolamine-type diphenhydramine, ethylenediamine-type pyrilamine or tripelennamine, alkylamine- type chlorpheniramine or brompheniramine, piperazine-type cyclizine, or phenothiazine-type promethazine. The therapeutic agent for diseases involved in hyaluronic acid decomposition contains this inhibitor.
