Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the energy efficiency of the entire vehicle.SOLUTION: A control apparatus performs: computing an engine revolution speed and engine torque corresponding to each gear stage of a transmission when running normally with a clutch engaged; computing engine power and engine fuel consumption amount corresponding to each gear stage on the basis of the engine revolution speed and engine torque corresponding to each gear stage; computing an engine thermal efficiency corresponding to each gear state on the basis of the engine thermal efficiency corresponding to each gear stage; controlling the transmission by setting an optimal gear stage of the transmission so as to maximize the engine thermal efficiency, on the basis of the engine thermal efficiency corresponding to each gear stage; and computing a decrease amount of loss power of the transmission and an increase amount of power for charging a battery, in the case of assuming that a gear stage is down-shifted from the optimal gear stage, and controlling the transmission so that the gear stage is down-shifted from the optimal gear stage if an absolute value of the decrease amount is larger than that of the increase amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
