Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load on the network side in mobile communication, to eliminate the wasteful use of a radio resource.SOLUTION: A mobile communication system includes: a mobile terminal (UE); a base station (eNB or the like) which performs radio communication with the mobile terminal; and an access management device (MME) which communicates with the base station to manage a tracking area. In order to update the tracking area, the mobile terminal transmits a signal which requests, through the base station, the access management device to update the tracking area. The access management device notifies the mobile terminal of a first tracking area update period and a second tracking area update period, different from the first tracking area, through the base station. The mobile terminal periodically updates the tracking area according to the first tracking area update period or the second tracking area update period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
