To allow a long-distance travel by providing a travel motor rotating wheels, a power generator feeding electric power to the travel motor, a small engine operating the power generator, and a battery provided on the power generator and feeding electric power to a self-starting motor (sel-motor) starting the small engine.
When a light vehicle such as a motorcycle is to be operated, a small engine 3 fitted with a cassette type LPG cylinder as a fuel source is started with a sel-motor provided on a power generator 2. The power generator 2 is operated by the power of the small engine 3 to generate electric power, and the generated electric power is fed to a travel motor 1 and charges a battery 4. When an accelerator is depressed, the travel motor 1 is started to start the vehicle, and the revolving speed of the travel motor 1 is controlled in response to the depressed quantity of the accelerator to change the travel speed. When the LPG cylinder becomes empty, it is removed from the engine 3, and a new cylinder is fitted to the small engine 3 in place of it.
