Abstract:

To reduce a loss of pressure caused by a throttle valve to improve thermal efficiency in a stationary internal combustion engine.

According to this method, a throttle valve 3 for controlling the output or an engine speed of an internal combustion engine and second means for controlling the output or the engine speed are provided and the throttle valve 3 controls the output or the engine speed from a start to a rated load operation and then the second means for controlling the output or the engine speed (for example, a rotary valve 4) adjusts finely the output or the engine speed in response to a change in load. The second means for controlling the output or the engine speed may be means for controlling the amount of air-fuel mixture supplied to a cylinder, means for controlling an air-fuel ratio of air-fuel mixture (that is the amount of supply of fuel), means for controlling a combustion state itself or the like.
