To provide a power supply device which outputs a low-current, high-voltage electric energy while suppressing a loss caused by Joule heat, in order to constitute a high-output and high-efficiency electric system, and which is configured to connect a plurality of power supplies in series as a means for increasing output voltage without using a booster circuit, and which increases the output of the power supplies while keeping small the capacity of the power supplies.
Provided is a hybrid power supply which includes a first power supply having a monotonously decreasing voltage characteristic with respect to a required current and a second power supply having a monotonously increasing voltage characteristic with respect to the required current, which are electrically connected in series, to ensure a high output voltage and a high energy efficiency. Also provided is a power unit using the hybrid power supply.
