Abstract:

To suppress an electric motor from being driven beyond the upper-limit rotation speed.

In this hybrid vehicle, an engine, a first motor, and a drive shaft are interconnected via a planet gear mechanism and a second motor is connected to the drive shaft. When the travel distance L after fuel residual quantity Fu from a residual quantity meter attached to a fuel tank becomes less than a predetermined residual quantity Fref exceeds a predetermined distance Lref (S130-S180), the torque outputted from the engine 22 is limited using a predetermined torque Tref as the upper limit (S190 and S200), and the engine and two motors are controlled so that a requested torque Tr* is outputted to the drive shaft. Thus, the engine torque can be suppressed from rapidly increasing when the fuel supply temporarily blocked just before run out of fuel is recovered, and the first motor can be suppressed from being driven beyond the upper-limit rotation speed.
