A hydraulic shock absorber adjusting spring load of the suspension spring 33 by moving the lower spring seat 32 up and down by screw motion of an adjuster bolt 101 is constructed by providing the adjuster bolt 101 facing an outside at a position shifting from an axle mounting hole 16 of a bottom part of an inner tube 12 at the bottom part, providing a plunger 102 supporting a lower surface of the lower spring seat 32, continuously loading a plurality of balls 104A, 104A-104N into a bent conduit 103A extended between the adjuster bolt 101 and the plunger 102, making an end surface of the adjuster bolt 101 abut on the ball 104A at one end of a continuing ball group 104, and making an end surface of the plunger 102 abut on the ball 104N at another end of the continuing ball group 104 in a front fork 10.
