Title:
HYDROCARBON COMPOUND AND ORGANIC ELECROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3794827
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new hydrocarbon compound suitably useful for an organic electroluminescent element having an excellent luminous efficiency and emitting a light with high brightness.
SOLUTION: This compound is pref. a bisacenaphtho[1',2':5,6]indeno[1,2,3-cd: 1',2',3'-lm]perylene derivative of formula I (X1 to X24 are each e.g. H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, an alkylthio or an alkenyl), e.g. a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I can be obtained by subjecting 3,3'- bisacenaphtho[1,2-k]fluoranthene derivative to cyclization in the presence of an oxidizing agent of e.g. aluminum chloride/copper (II) chloride. An organic electroluminescent element with excellent luminance is provided by sandwiching one layer, pref. a luminescent layer, of at least one kind derivative of formula I between a pair of electrodes.
