Abstract:
To produce a hydrogen storage alloy useful for alkaline storage battery cathode, increased in discharge capacitance, and excellent in cycle life characteristic.
This hydrogen storage alloy has a structure in which the crystal structure of an intermetallic compound as alloy phase is of cubic C15 type or hexagonal C14 type, belonging to Laves phase, and also has a composition containing, by atomic ratio, 22.4-33.6% Zr, 1.3-13.5% Ti, 0.7-3.6% Nb, 2.6-7.7% V, 32.2-41.5% Ni, 14.3-22.2% Mn, 0.1-5.3% B and one or ≥2 kinds among ≤11.5% Cr, ≤5.7% Co, ≤6.1% Fe, ≤2.3% Si, and ≤3.5% Mo.
