Abstract:

To provide a disordered hydrogen storage material having a hydrogen storable storage site existing with high density in local order.

The disordered multicomponent hydrogen storage material having remarkably high storage capacity due to a high density of usable hydrogen storage site (defect site of 1023/cm3) and/or remarkably small fine crystalline size shown in a graph in Figure is provided. The hydrogen storage material can be employed for electrochemical products, a fuel cell and a gas phase application. The material is manufactured to have the crystallite size of <200 , most preperably <100 and can be any of LaNi5 type or TiNi type.
