Title:
HYDROISOMERIZATION OF WAXY HYDROCARBON FEEDSTOCK USING SLURRIED CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3860863
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroisomerization method intended to produce a fraction having favorable low-temperature flow properties in high yield.
SOLUTION: A≥5C paraffin-based feedstock (esp. Fischer-Tropsch wax) and hydrogen are brought into contact, under hydroisomerization conditions, with such a catalyst that group IB metal, group VIB metal, group VIIIB metal, or a mixture of at least two of these metals are borne on silica alumina in the form of acidic granular solid slurried in a paraffin-based liquid to effect conversion into a medium distillation fraction, thus accomplishing the objective hydroisomerization. The catalyst particles are dispersed in the slurry in a concentration of >10 (pref. >25)wt.%, the average particle diameter being about 30-150μm (pref. about 40-60μm).
