Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide preparation methods of a hydroxypolyamide and a hydroxypolyamide product as gel forming agents, and a use method for the production of a hydrogel.SOLUTION: A hydroxypolyamide, a hydroxypolyamide product, and a post-hydroxypolyamide are disclosed as gel forming agents. The hydroxypolyamide product is produced from a modified polymerization procedure which utilizes strong base for deprotonation of ammonium salt from the esterification of a stoichiometrically equivalent polyacid:polyamine salt. The hydroxypolyamide and the post-hydroxypolyamide are prepared from known methods. The hydroxypolyamide product is capable of forming a gel at a lower concentration than the hydroxypolyamide and the post-hydroxypolyamide from the known methods of preparation, and is therefore a superior gel forming agent.
