PURPOSE: To secure stability of contact, miniaturize a device mounting a circuit substrate. and simplify its structure by tilting the end surfaces of movable contacts, and holding a contact terminal in a holding hole, formed on an insulating housing.
CONSTITUTION: A contact terminal 1 comprises a cylindrical body 2 made of a conductive material, movable contacts 3, 4, and a spring member 5. The contacts 3, 4 are provided with columnar contact points 3A, 4A projecting from the cylindrical body 2, and cylindrical portions 3C, 4C having recesses 3B, 4B formed in portions embedded in the cylindrical body 2, respectively. Inclined step portions 3D, 4D are formed from the contact points 3A, 4A to the cylindrical portions 3C, 4C in such a manner that the diameters thereof are increased toward the cylindrical portions 3C, 4C. The end surfaces of the contact points 3A, 4A are formed at angles θ3, θ3 with respect to the surfaces perpendicular to the axes, respectively. In an electric connector having this contact terminal 1, holding holes 11 for the terminal 1 are formed at equal pitches vertically through an insulating housing 10.
