Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable uniform dispersion of heat insulating material into a ladle and to charge suitable quantity of the heat insulating material into the ladle by simultaneously opening plural valve pieces. SOLUTION: In a method and a device for charging the heat insulating material 15 into the ladle, since plural valve pieces 3 in a switching valve 10 in a hopper 1 incorporating the heat insulating material 15 are simultaneously opened, the heat insulating material is uniformly dropped onto the surface of molten metal 17 as the layer state, and the charge of the heat insulating material 15 can safely and uniformly be executed without any manual operation.
